Being in Malaysia, you will surely want to be at the city centre where there are a lot of job opportunities, lively nightlife, fun and entertaining events and other things. One of the places where you can consider living in Malaysia is Petaling Jaya. Petaling Jaya is located in Selangor and it is near to the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur which has the tallest twin tower and the highest skybride in the world among other great things. The nearest airport to Petaling Jaya is the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport or also known as Subang Airport which caters for international flights as well as domestic flights. There is also another airport to get to Petaling Jaya which is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
You should not worry about transport in Petaling Jaya as there are a lot of buses available, mainly the Rapid KL buses. You can also opt to travel using rail-based transit system which consists of two Light Rail Transit lines (Rapid Lines), one monorail line (KL Monorail) , two commuter rail systems consisting four lines (KTM Komuter), and an airport rail link (Express Rail Link – ERL). This rail-based network will assure you to get to various places in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya with no hassle.
Property prices in Petaling Jaya differ based on the types of properties. You can usually opt for residential buildings like apartments and condominiums to live in Petaling Jaya. The first one is condominiums which are the higher quality of housing blocks in Malaysia. They are more luxurious than apartments and usually have swimming pools, high security system and have landscaped grounds which are usually unavailable in apartments. Condominium units usually have three spacious bedrooms or more. Condominium units in Petaling Jaya may range from RM500,000 to more than a million ringgit for those units with five or more bedrooms. Some examples are Riana Green Condominium, Tiara Kelana and Casa Tropicana.
The next type of housing blocks in Malaysia is the apartments, which can be said as the normal quality housing block for the common income groups. For the lower income groups, they prefer flats which are smaller and lower quality than apartments. It is quite rare for apartments to have more than 3 bedrooms. Some apartments might also have security guards and a gated community but high class amenities like swimming pools are rare except for higher quality apartments. Apartments in Petaling Jaya costs around RM180,000 to RM400,000 where the prices are affected by the amenities that the apartments have. Pangsapuri Lagoon Perdana and Pelangi Damansara Apartment are some of the apartments available in Petaling Jaya.
Serviced Apartments in the other hand, is usually for someone who prefer a long term stay but not permanent, suitable for travellers in groups and also expatriats. These serviced apartments have amenities for daily use like swimming pools and gymnasium and compared to hotels, they are less expensive but they provide more space and privacy. Some hotels also provide serviced apartments alongside hotel rooms. Serviced apartment is usually not for sale and their rental price is counted per day or per month. The next type of housing blocks is Studio Apartments where it is usually a small apartment with a bedroom, a bathroom and a combined living room and kitchen. Studio Apartments are still uncommon in Malaysia but there are already few developers who started doing this type of unit. However, it is located at a really strategic place and is also luxurious with a lot of amenities provided, making it only suitable for elites and high income earners. They cost around RM400,000 per unit. Metropolitan Square and PJ 8 Serviced Suites are some residential buildings which have studio apartment units.
